Now a days a week doesn't  pass by without the mention of an EMP event hitting us, wether is via solar flair or EMP weapon.  The truth is if either scenario happens our electronics will be fried. No I am fully aware that our power grid will fry as well leaving the affected area without power as well. But if you can protect your electronic devices and have solar chargers or renuable power system in place at least you can access whatever you have stored on your devices like, ebooks, pictures and videos, documents, and so forth . If you do research on growing your own food, making  a seed bank of what grows in your area, how to preserve food, grow medicinal herbs, etc. You can screenshot the info and make a folder you can access. In the event you loose power and of course internet access you can charge your protected devices with your renuable energy source and be able to access important information but also have some source of entertainment. This is not an expensive way to protect your devices so I feel is another preparedness tool to have.
