I love these types of candles, they are as real as it gets for being fake. The flame dances and moves just like a real candle so you get the look and the safety. Very realistic, they look lovely on my balcony. They flicker and don't get blown out by the wind. Can, therefore, use them whatever the weather; all 4 seasons if you want to.
The handy little remote control looks flimsy, but works fine so far and is ideal for switching all/some the candles on/off.
The remote works by pointing it at the candle(s) you want on/off. Means that if you want to, you can display the candles individually.
You don't have to use the remote however, there's also a little switch on the bottom of each candle.
Best thing is they're safe! And... no more scraping real candle wax off precious table tops/shelves etc.
