We use this in the back hall area as it always just seems humid and wet back there. We have had this sitting on a shelf back there for about 3 weeks now. You barely notice it. I like that the water holding tank is transparent and you can easily see from across the room what level the water is at and if it needs emptied or not. We have to empty it about every 3-4 days. Which I honestly thought would be much more for the size of this. We have not had to worry about it overflowing at all. Very nice small quiet humidifier!
