The lighting is so bright, it almost seems like daytime and will illuminate an area pretty well. We have been using 1 for the table and hooking 2 into tree branches around the table. I'm pretty impressed actually, figured it was waterlogged and would have to pitch it. I highly recommend these small but powerful lanterns, they are compact and well made that emit powerful illumination.
