Strong D-Rings, but not for climbing

With all the scouting my boys do, we use a lot of carabiners. I saw these d-ring carabiners and thought maybe they might work, too. I liked how many came in the package, so picked them up for the kids to try out.

They are made of polished aluminum that is designed to be rustproof and corrosion free. They are approximately 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches in size and have a twist slide that moves to allow you to release them and open them by pushing the side open. I can't easily release it and open it with one hand since you need to twist the middle to released it first,  so the convenience is not quite the same as a carabiner, but they do stay shut and work well for their purpose.

They are perfect for attaching things and keeping them all organized and together. They should work great for camping and hiking, which is what my boys do. They typically attach their water bottles to their belts or backpacks with carabiners, but I am not sure they'd want to use these since it is not quick release due to the locking mechanism. But they work great for securing other items and key chains, which a lot of the boys like to use them for.

The maximum load for each clip is 150 pounds, so don't think you can use this for heavier gear, hammocks, or climbing. But for Scouts, it works great. The boys can easily use these to attach things to their daypacks or hiking packs.

They are well made and work great. And getting six in the pack is great. I hate when I have to pay for each carabiner individually, so always look for packages with multiple items in it.
