Looks great, works great, but thinner than expected

My boys often sellthings to raise money for Scouts. When they do, they keep their money in an envelope or bag, but it is always a pain to organize. I wanted to get them a few money clips to be able to help better manage the money when we have fundraisers, rather than envelopes and paper clips.   When it arrived, I was impressed with the packaging. It was a very attractive looking box in which this money clip was nestled. It would make a beautiful gift, with the way it is presented.   But once I took it out of the case, I was not as impressed. It was thin and flimsier feeling than I would have expected it to be. I was expecting something of more substance, something stronger and thicker than this. It is made of carbon fiber, so I was thinking it was going to be heavier.   I had my son go grab his bag of beef jerky sticks, where he has his money stashed in an envelope and a bag. He gave me the cash that he had inside, leaving the coins rattling around in the bottom of the bag. We had a difficult time opening the clip wide enough to insert the folded money, but once we did it held firmly and strongly. It was much more convenient than it being loose in the bag or envelope. I had him put the money clip with the money clasped together inside the envelope so that it is out of site, since his bag is clear and you can see everything it holds.   All of that said, I have mixed feelings about this money clip. It is deceving when you look at it and first handle it, leading you to believe it is not of high quality. But it works great.
