This is a nice kit to have for cutting hair. I like to cut my own hair most of the time and having sharp scissors helps to give it a more professional look. I haven't used them yet and never used thinning scissors before but will be experimenting with them soon. I tried both pairs on a small section though.
My opinion of this kit is that it's very nice to have a complete set of grooming products in a kit. While it's not totally complete, just having the two types of scissors is nice. It comes with two clips, a comb, and also the zippered case.
So far I think these are adequate and yes there are more premium barber scissors to be had, but the price is relatively fair for this set. Even though they cut nicely on the section of hair that I cut, I do think the shears could use some sharpening and honing a little maybe but they're not bad.
