Gas Range Protectors,4 Pack 10.62" X 10.62" Custom Fit Gas Stove Burner Covers
I despise cleaning stoves almost as much as I despise cleaning bathrooms. I avoid it as much as possible and pray someone else in the family will help me out and scrub it down. I saw these stove burner covers and thought maybe they might be easier to use than the drip pans we have now that take major scrubbing to get clean. They look like the stuff we use for our bbq grill and what I like to put down on my cookie sheets when baking. They are made of glass fiber cloth coated in Teflon, according to the Amazon listing. Because of this they should handle the abuse of heat, oil, and food spills without being damaged. But definitely keep them far away from the fire if you have a gas stove. The fire WILL damage the covers, though they don't catch fire and burn. I love the fact that these can be hand washed and then tossed in the dishwasher before putting them back on. The size they come in did not fit my stove top, so I had to adjust. I tried to figure out a good way to cut them, finally resorting to measuring and then drawing lines in a white color pencil to trim them with scissors. I had a hard time getting them to lay flat on my stove top and look RIGHT. No matter what I did, they didn't seem to look right. I finally gave up on them and put them away. I will continue to use my ugly drip pans that I hate, continuing to hope someone else keeps them clean (or at least learns to clean up after themselves when they drip on them!). These might work for others, but not for us.
