Ready to go camping!

My family spends a lot of time outdoors thanks to the active lifestyle we have and all of the Scouting activities we do. A few years back, my brother (who has climbed most of the mountains on the West Coast and is an avid hiker) took us on a local starter climb. We met at 4am to head out and he provided us with headlamps and hiking sticks since we had nothing of our own. We quickly learned the importance of having these tools and have been picking up our own items ever since.   This was the latest in the lineup of headlamps we have in our home. The last few sets I bought were way too bulky and heavy for the kids to be comfortable with on their campouts. While having the rechargeable battery option on the others was nice, the size of the battery compartments and charging components was too big. I wanted something smaller and more lightweight, which this headlamp is.   In the package you get the headlamp with the adjustable band to go around your head, and a usb charger. I am glad to see this is rechargeable, but on a much smaller scale. It only has the band around the head, not around AND over the top. The light is bright, so use caution when wearing it and looking directly at someone or you will temporarily blind them. The light also flashes, so if you need that feature, it is available. The top also has a blue light, though I am still not sure what that would be used for, as it is a lot dimmer than I thought it would be.   The kids are much happier with this and are already arguing over who will use the smaller headlamp (this one) compared to others.
