Unique yet confusing and yet offers many options

This light weight box is a very unique item.  It can display the time, date, temperature and also can have 3 seperate tiems set for alarms.  The box is very light weight and prior to plugging into the wall outlet I couldnt see which side the display was located, which initially impressed me.  Once plugged into the wall it's bright red display was easily seen.  It offers 2 modes to choose from.  It will only display the time as option 1 or with option 2 the block will shuffle one at a time time,date, and temperature.  The DOWN SIDE of this tiny block is how conservative it actually is with electricty.  True it offers four different brightness levels and the temperature seems to be fairly accurate..  However the display automatically turns off after 1 minute making it appear like nothing more than a decorative small box.  Loudly clap your hands and the sound detection will turn on the display. Makes this impossible of being a replacememnt to other types of permanent clocks in any room thorughout your house.  If someone is sleeping or reading, just seems that making a loud clap to know the time seem very unsensable.  The instructions require reading several times before I completly understood them, however once understood became a breeze to set the time and date.  It's small size and the short cord cord that requires plugging into a usb outlet had also left me no feeling very satisfying with this purchase.  To counter that feeling, it does have a battery bay that requires 3 AAA batteries with the same restraints and loudness required to simply know the time.  A great gift idea perhaps, but not a plausable choose for a permanant clock or reliable option to know thee time when desired throughtout the day.
