SPENCER&WHITNEY Lightweight Polyester Blanket All Season Use 100 Polyester Fiber Blanket Plush Soft Throw Blanket
I ordered this small throw blanket because I am one of those people that doesn’t relax well unless I am covered up. Whether I am sitting in a recliner, sprawled on the couch, or curled in a chair reading, I always feel more relaxed and at home when I have a cover. Now, most of the year that is fine, but in the summer time it can get very hot so I often look for good blankets for the spring and summer months. So far, this blanket has been a great fit! The blanket is fairly small in size, not quite big enough to use on a twin size bed but perfect for chair or couch usage. This throw blanket costs $20.99 on Amazon and I truly think it is a great fit for the most of the year.
This throw blanket is fairly thin and it is made of Polyester. Both ends have tassels that often appear on throws. They appear to be well built and they were not fraying, which is often a concern with cheaper throws. The blanket measures at 50” by 60” and the tassels are four inches on either end. It is primarily grey in color, with lines of darker grey and red forming boxes across the throw. The design is very classic and could fit well with basically any décor. It folds up neatly and can easily sit on a couch or chair between use or be put into storage.
There are a few drawbacks with this throw, however. The material is obviously cheaper and less soft to the touch than some blankets would be. The blankets texture is more like a quilt than a comforter, but a touch rougher than the average quilt. The fabric at the base of the tassels also does not look as hardy as it could. Some of the individual strands of fabric at the base of the tassels are loose and could easily be snagged and pulled which would damage the blanket. I would not recommend this blanket if you have cats that are particularly intrigued by tassles or loose threads, as it could get damaged fairly easily. I also doubt this blanket would be warm enough for the winter months if you tend to set your thermostat lower to save money, but it is an appropriate blanket choice for the rest of the year as long as you live in a more moderate climate (and not somewhere where it snows all year).
Overall, this throw blanket appears sturdy and generally well built other than the few drawbacks I listed. However, the loose strands at the base of the tassels are concerning and for that reason primarily I would give this blanket a 3 out of 5 stars.
