When your kids are out camping every month with Boy Scouts, you always look for things they might need. And things like flashlights, lanterns, etc. are some of the first to go missing, get lost, or break. I am constantly picking up new lights for them to use. I saw this two pack of hurricane lanterns that are small and can clip on and thought they might be a good addition to our collection.   The box arrived absolutely mangled. I have never had problems with my shipments from Amazon before, and the package that was smooshed beyond belief and the contents spilled out was packaged nicely inside a larger Amazon box with air padding in it. Thankfully those things helped protect them from being broken. But I have seen numerous reviews posted on Amazon for the items that says their arrived broken. I believe the company needs to invest in some better packaging for their product so that it can stand up to the abuse of shipping and arrive intact.  The packaging is very thin, so it is no wonder it comes apart and gets smooshed.   But both of my lanterns were okay. No broken pieces, nothing missing. And putting batteries in both showed they do work. I was a bit worried about it based on Amazon reviews that stated they only got one working lantern and the other a dud. But both of mine worked. They are not the brightest (being 150 lumens), but if you have ever been out in the middle of nowhere with no lights, having a super bright lantern only serves to blind you and anyone else in the vicinity rather than providing you with the light you need. I think these are just fine for what we need. They are bright enough that you can easily see things, but not so bright they blind you when coming on.   Each little huricane lantern is small enough to fit in your hand, so won't take up a ton of space in your daypack or backpack/gear boxes. They also have carabiners on them, though I would replace them with sturdier ones. The carabiners that come with products like this are never strong and don't stay clipped like they are supposed to. I always end up replacing them first thing, and these are among those getting replaced. But I only do that because my boys hate to have things take up space in their packs, so clip their lanterns, first aid kits, etc. on the outside of the packs. Not sure I would want to do that and have them flopping with every step I take, but they prefer it that way, and these allow them the chance to do it.   These are not the highest quality lanterns, but they work perfectly fine for our needs. Since I have no clue how long until they are lost or broken, I need things that are small, lightweight, and easily replaced. These fit the bill perfectly for my needs. Getting two lanterns for less than $8 is But if I were buying something for myself to use over and over again on my own campouts (which luckily I don't have to do like when we were in Cub Scouts), I would find some that were better quality.   #RankBoosterReview #Sponsored #FirstBuy #campinglights #camping #campingtools #lights #nightlights #hanginglight #smalllight Get yours today! https://amzn.to/2DQXjc0
