Not Quite Long Enough, but Decent Support

I purchased this OBRE wrist brace as I have carpel tunnel and I am regularly looking for a brace that is comfortable enough to use at work, but still provided enough support. The package arrived undamaged, but the brace came in a flimsy plastic bag which was a bit concerning. The product also, thankfully, arrived undamaged. I wasn’t generally impressed with how it was packaged, but it did serve its purpose well enough. The instructions are a single sheet of paper that was folded up in the bag with the brace.

The product is made of cloth and has a different texture on the outside and the inside. The interior texture is designed so that it will not irritate your skin whereas the exterior texture is designed to allow the velco to hold the brace in place. The interior texture is pleasantly smooth and feels comfortable on your skin. It is a wrap around brace; you put your thumb into it and then wrap it around the hand and wrist. It comes with instructions which are vague but give enough detail to wrap the brace correctly.

The cloth is a little bit stretchy, but it is still a fairly short brace all things considered. If you have a thicker wrist, this may be too short to give you enough support. For me, it was a decent length but perhaps a touch short. I had trouble wrapping it just right to give the best support. For my spouse, whose wrists are larger than mine, this product did not have worked at all to provide support because there was not enough length to wrap it around enough to actually create support.

The thumb hole is a bit smaller than is comfortable. While my thumb fit in it just fine, it dragged a bit on my skin when wrapping the brace around my wrist and caused some slight discomfort until I acclimated to it. I did appreciate that the material was not one that irritated my skin, however, or the discomfort would have been much more acute. Overall, I would give this product a 3 of 5 stars. I like the included instructions, but a more details description would have been nice. The product also could have been a touch longer to give better support to my wrist and did not work at all for my spouse’s wrist. This product would work nicely for people with smaller wrists, but I would not recommend it in general for people with larger wrists or in need of a more sturdy support brace.
