Super absorbent!

We have been talking about buying a new set of coasters for quite some time now. We have a set now that is looking pretty shabby. Our current set is simple wood with cork inserts to absorb liquid, but most of the cork has dried and cracked and fallen out, so we needed new absorbant coasters to protect our coffee tables and end tables we got last year.   I have been wanting to get a set of Thirstystones, but hated the price you have to pay to get 4 of them. I was thrilled to see this set of 6 coasters for less than $15. They are also made of absorbant stone, and they are very pretty. They are blue and white wavey designs and look great. Normal Thirstystones are 4 coasters for $18 or more, depending on where you buy them, so this is a great deal. Of course, Thirstystones are made of sandstone, which is highly absorbant. These are made of an absorbant stone ceramic, so are definitely not the same. They have cork bottoms that allow you to protect your furniture from scratching or damage.   And honestly, though these are a knockoff of the main product, I am SUPER impressed at the absorbing powers they have! They are very impressive. I ran one under the sink faucet to see how well it worked. When you pour water directly on them, of course it runs off and  doesn't soak in, but if you drip water on it like you would have coming from the sides of a drink, it soaks right in. I dripped a lot of water on the coasters and was fascinated with how quickly the stone top, which is very smooth and not porous at all, soaked it right up. I have one sitting on my end table now and a drink that is sweating and no problems whatsoever.   I am very happy with the way these are working, and though they do not match our decor, they are a much needed, much appreciated addition. They work so much better than the ones my mom has at her house, which is impressive in and of itself! She paid the big bucks for the real ones whereas these are cheaper and similar to the expensive ones, but work so much better.
