I recently got a nice, new, fluffy matress that is nearly solid white that I didn't want anything to happen to. I have young nieces/nephews that like to crawl around on the bed and also have food and drinks up there at times. I also have several pets that are on and off my bed quite often. I feared that I would end up with spots all over bright white mattress in no time if I didn't cover it up. I wasn't looking for anything extraordinary w/ padding....just something simple and waterproof. I've had ones in the past that are like a vinyl material that make all kinds of noise just from rolling over them and I certainly did not want that. I took a whack at this one because it seemed just like what I wanted. The protector has elastic all the way around the edge which stops the cover from coming off...especially when you have little kids jumping on the bed. It also fits deep mattresses which is nice as I've had a couple that don't fit all the way around the edges. The nicest part...is that the waterproof backing works well, but makes no noise when it's shuffled around. It's a thin material but seems to be quite strong so far. I'm very happy with this purchase and would hesitate to buy another when need be.
